Resume : Anthologie de récits de guerre et d’aventure à l’initiative d’Harvey Kurtzman, Two-Fisted Tales paraît pour la première fois au mois de novembre 1950, sous le label de l’éditeur indépendant américain Max Gaines : EC Comics. Le titre reprend alors la numérotation de The Haunt of Fear et vingt-quatre numéros seront publiés.
Si les premiers numéros font la part belle aux récits d’aventures, le début de la guerre de Corée amènera Harvey Kurtzman, qui écrivait la plupart des histoires, à écrire principalement des récits de guerre relatant la brutalité de celle-ci à travers l’Histoire.
